Hours: 10 AM - 1 PM and 2 PM - 5 PM
Students will work from their own photos to create a bas relief 16" x 16" sculpture in water-based clay. Students may choose to work from a photo of a person, dog, horse, building, or even flowers. A variety of subjects would be exciting for the class. All levels are welcome.
May 9 and 11, 2026 Bas Relief Silicone Mold Workshop

Hours 9am-4pm
Students will be guided through the step by step process of creating a silicone mold of their bas relief sculpture. This mold may be used to pour a plaster cast or a wax cast for a bronze cast. All levels are welcome.

Portrait Sculpture Workshop

Hours 10am-1pm, (lunch 1pm-2:30pm) and 2:30-5:30
We will go in depth the first three days to examine the landscape of the portrait starting with creating a skull, then adding muscles, tendons and cartilage, then learning about the placement of facial fat pads and that wide array variations in individual features.
On day 4 we will begin a portrait from life using specific observational techniques to apply what we learned during the first three days to this particular portrait. The following 6 days will be devoted to a slow and careful creation of a likeness to the live model. We will begin by blocking in and then proceed to placement of the features and development of their forms. We will go in depth to examine the structure of the eyes, mouth, nose and ears and explore how their treatment impacts the composition of our portrait to reveal our chosen impact. We will discover the many ways that hair and eyebrows can impact the spirit of our portrait. Finally, we will use subtle manipulation of the features and forms to elicit mood and character in our portrait. All skill levels are welcome.
July 25-28, 2026 Silicone Portrait Mold Workshop

Hours 9am-4pm with breaks between the steps in the process
During the 4 days of this workshop, students will be guided through the many steps and stages of creating a silicone and plaster mold of their portrait. With this mold, students pour a cast of their portrait or have a foundry pour a wax cast to cast in bronze. All skill levels are welcome. All materials included.
